Security Council 751 Committee Considers Panel of Experts’ Thematic Report

Following consideration of a thematic report submitted by the Panel of Experts on Somalia in accordance with paragraph 47 (c)(i) of resolution 2662 (2022), the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolution 751 (1992) concerning Al-Shabaab agreed to take follow-up action on the recommendations contained therein.

Local and Regional Engagement, Action and Multi-Level Cooperation Are Vital to Rescue SDGs and Contribute to Topics under the Summit of Future

UN Secretary-General António Guterres launched his Advisory Group on Local and Regional Governments, through its first hybrid meeting among its 20 members. The meeting offered an opportunity to exchange on strategic topics pertaining to local and regional governments’ engagement and action in relation to recovery measures from multiple and overlapping crises and advancing international agreements and standards, including on sustainable development, gender equality, social inclusion, climate action, the new urban agenda, and human rights.
