A formal opening ceremony for the exhibition “Holocaust by Bullets” will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, 25 January, in the Visitors’ Lobby (Gallery A) at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
As the United Nations marks the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust on Wednesday, 27 January, a memorial ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the General Assembly Hall at New York Headquarters.
The opening ceremony for the exhibition “Torture — The International Outlaw” will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, 10 December, in the Visitors’ Lobby at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The film Woman in Gold will be featured at the United Nations in New York in January 2016 to mark the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
An opening ceremony for a photo exhibition entitled “Palestinian Children: Overcoming Tragedies with Hope, Dreams, Resilience and Dignity” will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, 23 November, in the Visitors’ Lobby at United Nations Headquarters.
On Wednesday, 18 November, the Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme will host a round-table discussion titled “Faith, Identity and the Promotion of Peace in the Aftermath of Genocide”.
The Outreach Division of the Department of Public Information will host a three-day Model United Nations workshop on 6, 7 and 9 November 2015 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Students who have participated in a Model United Nations conference at the high school or university level, as well as students and advisers who have had a leadership role in organizing a conference, will take part. More than 130 students from 30 countries will attend.
A joint opening ceremony for two photo exhibitions that mark the seventieth anniversary of the United Nations will be held in the Visitors’ Lobby at 6 p.m. on 4 November. The shows are called “The United Nations at 70: Moments and Milestones” and “UN Headquarters: A Workshop for Peace”.
As part of the UN70 celebrations in New York City, the Department of Public Information has mobilized the participation of over 220 staff and diplomats in the annual Dash to the Finish Line race, organized by the New York Road Runners every year on the day before the New York City Marathon.
