The Permanent Mission of Sierra Leone to the United Nations is organizing an event in connection with the annual observance of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
An opening ceremony for an exhibition titled “UNESCO Green Citizens — Pathfinders for Change” will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, 22 February 2016, in the Visitors’ Lobby. The exhibit is organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), SIPA Press and the Klorane Institute. It is endorsed by UNESCO.
A formal opening ceremony for the exhibition “Africans in India: From Slaves to Generals and Rulers” will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, 17 February, in the Visitors’ Lobby at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme, in partnership with the World Jewish Congress and the Weinstein Company, will screen the acclaimed film Woman in Gold on Thursday, 28 January, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

As the United Nations marks the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust on Wednesday, 27 January, a memorial ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the General Assembly Hall at New York Headquarters.
