The story of celebrated conductor Arturo Toscanini’s opposition to fascism and Nazism during the Second World War will be told at United Nations Headquarters on Tuesday, 28 April 2015 at 6:30 p.m.

The “Nuclear-Free World:  Cries from Hiroshima and Nagasaki" exhibition will be launched with a special ceremony on Monday, 27 April, at 6 p.m. in the Visitors’ Lobby.

The United Nations Department of Public Information, the United States Mission to the United Nations and Paramount Pictures will organize a special screening of the movie Selma for the United Nations diplomatic community and staff members.  The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, 23 April, at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

An exhibition entitled Indigenous Peoples Housing and Sustainable Settlements will open with a cultural event and reception on Tuesday, 21 April, at 6:15 p.m. in the United Nations Visitors’ Lobby, marking the fourteenth session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

Beginning on Monday, 30 March, in New York and around the world, the tenth observance of the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action will begin.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will launch a Call to Action on World Autism Awareness Day, 2 April, inviting businesses to make concrete commitments to employ persons with autism.

An opening ceremony for a multimedia exhibition entitled “Water for Life Voices” will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, 30 March, in the Visitors’ Lobby (Gallery A).

On the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, a permanent memorial to honour these victims will be unveiled at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 25 March.
