The United Nations Department of Public Information will partner with Rutgers University Center for the Study of Genocide, Conflict Resolution, and Human Rights and the Documentation Center of Cambodia to examine the issues that led to mass murder during the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia and to highlight the current efforts towards reconciliation in the country.

A photo exhibition entitled “World Hunger — A Solvable Problem”, celebrating the global partnership between the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Saudi Arabia in the fight against hunger, will open with a special ceremony and reception on Thursday, 27 September, at 6:45 p.m. in the North-East Gallery of the Visitors Lobby at United Nations Headquarters.

On Friday, 21 September, the United Nations Department of Public Information will organize the fifteenth student observance of the International Day of Peace under the theme “Sustainable Peace for a Sustainable Future”, which focuses on the use of natural resources to finance armed conflict, or how struggles over control of those resources can fuel conflict.
