World Food Programme, Saudi Arabia to Open Photo Exhibition at United Nations

A photo exhibition entitled “World Hunger — A Solvable Problem”, celebrating the global partnership between the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Saudi Arabia in the fight against hunger, will open with a special ceremony and reception on Thursday, 27 September, at 6:45 p.m. in the North-East Gallery of the Visitors Lobby at United Nations Headquarters.

The event will be hosted by Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of the World Food Programme, and Abdallah Y. al-Mouallimi, Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations.

Solid sustainable partnerships with Governments, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and civil society are essential for eradicating hunger.  The strong partnership between Saudi Arabia and WFP is one example of working together to end global hunger.  This exhibition showcases the ways in which this partnership has made a difference in the lives of millions of people affected by hunger worldwide.

The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.  Each year, on average, WFP feeds more than 90 million people in more than 70 countries.
