United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Violet Kakyomya of Uganda as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Burundi, with the host Government’s approval, starting today.

The new Permanent Observer for the University for Peace to the United Nations, Ramu Damodaran, presented his Letter of Appointment to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

The new Permanent Representative of Albania to the United Nations, Suela Janina, presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

The new Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Julie Bishop of Australia as his Special Envoy on Myanmar.  Ms. Bishop succeeds Noeleen Heyzer of Singapore to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for her dedicated service.
