Jean Arnault, de nationalité française, a été nommé Représentant spécial du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies en Géorgie et Chef de la Mission d’observation des Nations Unies en Géorgie (MONUG), en remplacement d’Heidi Tagliavini (Suisse) qui assumait depuis juillet 2002 cette fonction et dont le mandat expire à la fin de ce mois.
