Commission on Limits of Continental Shelf Concludes Its Sixty-First Session

NEW YORK, 23 August (Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea) — The Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf held its sixty-first session at United Nations Headquarters, from 8 July to 23 August 2024. The plenary parts of the session were held from 5 to 9 and from 19 to 23 August. The remainder of the session was devoted to the technical examination of submissions at the premises of the Division, including geographic information systems laboratories and other technical facilities.

Youth Leaders Visiting Japan to Meet with Atomic Bombing Survivors, Learn about Consequences of Nuclear Weapons

Today, selected participants of the Youth Leader Fund for a World without Nuclear Weapons begin their week-long study visit to Japan. There, they will meet with survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and host their own youth-led conference.
