Following is UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ message for World Refugee Day, observed on 20 June:
Government representatives will meet in New York from 18 to 28 June 2024 for the fourth United Nations Conference (RevCon4) to review progress made in the implementation of the Programme of Action on combating illicit small arms and light weapons.
On 3 June 2024, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1533 (2004) concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo held informal consultations on “DRC-mined gold, tantalum and tungsten: illicit trading in DRC and internationally”.
On 3 June 2024, the Coordinator and members of the Panel of Experts briefed the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2127 (2013) concerning the Central African Republic on the Panel’s final report submitted in pursuance of resolution 2693 (2023).
On 24 May 2024, the Group of Experts on the Democratic Republic of the Congo briefed members of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1533 (2004) in connection with the Group’s final report.
