Following is UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ remarks at the high-level ministerial meeting of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends, in Cascais today:

On 11 November 2024, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2653 (2022) concerning Haiti held a briefing to Member States during which the Panel of Experts briefed on its final report dated 29 September 2024 (S/2024/704).

In accordance with the Terms of Reference of the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, the Secretary-General appoints eminent individuals for a term of two years, taking into consideration gender and regional balance. Candidates are nominated by Member States.
