United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Tatiana Molcean of the Republic of Moldova as the next Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE). She will succeed Olga Algayerova of Slovakia, to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for her commitment and dedicated service to the Organization.

On Monday, 24 July, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres arrived in Rome to take part in the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment. The high-level event builds on the momentum of the 2021 Food Systems Summit. The meeting was hosted by the Government of Italy, in collaboration with the Rome-based United Nations Agencies, the United Nations Food Systems Coordination Hub and the wider United Nations system.
