SECRETARY-GENERAL MEETS WITH FOREIGN MINISTER OF TURKEY

ISTANBUL, 6 June -- Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali and Mr. Rauf Denktash conducted an extensive review of all aspects of the Cyprus problem today. The two men met for over an hour in Istanbul. Following the meeting, the Secretary-General said he would be meeting with Mr. Glafcos Clerides in Geneva on 11 June.

SECRETARY-GENERAL CONDEMNS MURDER IN BURUNDI OF SWISS WORKERS FROM ICRC

ISTANBUL, Turkey, 5 June -- Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, in Turkey to inaugurate the United Nations Conference for Human Settlements (Habitat II), was shocked to learn of the murder yesterday of three Swiss workers from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Burundi. He condemns this wanton act of violence in the strongest terms.
