Special Representative of the Secretary-General Michael Steiner today completes his term as head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).

Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in Geneva on Thursday, 26 June, where he began a series of meetings, including one with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Jakob Kellenberger.

The Secretary-General was shocked to learn of the terrorist attacks over the weekend in a Shi’ite mosque in Quetta and during a concert in Moscow.  More than 50 people were killed in Quetta and at least 13 in Moscow.
