Following is the text of UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ video message to the International Finance Forum Annual Meeting F20 [Foundation Platform] Summit, in Guangzhou, China, today:

On 1 December, the African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat and the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, held the sixth African Union-United Nations Annual Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Olufunmilayo Abosede Balogun-Alexander of Nigeria as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Timor-Leste, with the host Government’s approval. She takes up her post on 1 December.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Hopolang Phororo of Lesotho as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Namibia, with the host Government’s approval. She takes up her post on 1 December.

​​​​​​​United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Nathalie Fustier of France as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Morocco, with the host Government’s approval.  She takes up her post on 1 December.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Nelson Muffuh of Cameroon as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in South Africa, with the host Government’s approval.  He takes up his post on 1 December.

​​​​​​​United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Oscar Fernandez-Taranco of Argentina as Assistant Secretary-General for Development Coordination.  He succeeds Robert Piper of Australia, who was appointed as Special Adviser on Solutions to Internal Displacement.  The Secretary-General is deeply grateful to Mr. Piper for his dedicated service and commitment and his steadfast stewardship in operationalizing the new Development Coordination Office.
