Following are UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s remarks, as prepared for delivery, to “State of the Planet 2010: Connecting Voices Globally to Meet the Challenges of Climate Change, Poverty and Economic Recovery”, in New York, 25 March:

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Charles Petrie of the United Kingdom/France as his new Executive Representative for Burundi and Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in that country and United Nations Resident Coordinator, Resident Representative, Humanitarian Coordinator and Designated Official for Burundi.

On 25 March 2010, the Security Council Al-Qaida and Taliban Sanctions Committee approved the amendments specified with strikethrough and underline in the entry below to its Consolidated List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 1904 (2009) adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.
