One of the most important indicators of an oversight office’s success was the degree to which other bodies and programme managers embraced its suggestions, the Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) was told this morning as it concluded its general discussion of the activities of the Office of Internal Oversight Services.

The increase in the activities over the past year of the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) was testimony to the fact that the groundwork of almost six years had borne fruit, the Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) was told as it took up its agenda item on the activities of that Office.
