The Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) elected José A. Blanco Conde (Dominican Republic) Chair on 7 June.

The First Committee (Disarmament and International Security) elected Mohan Pieris (Sri Lanka) as its Chair.

The Sixth Committee (Legal) elected Pedro Comissário Afonso (Mozambique) Chair on 7 June.

The Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization) elected Mohamed al Hassan (Oman) Chair on 7 June.

The Second Committee (Economic and Financial) elected Lachezara Stoeva (Bulgaria) Chair on 7 June.

The Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) elected Philippe Kridelka (Belgium) Chair on 7 June.

Following the recommendation of the Secretary-General, after consultation with Member States, the General Assembly confirmed Filippo Grandi of Italy as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for a further two and a half years beginning on 1 July 2023 and ending on 31 December 2025.

The new Permanent Representative of Guatemala to the United Nations, Carla María Rodríguez Mancia, presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today. She is the first Guatemalan woman to hold this post.

The new Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations, David Bakradze, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

The new Permanent Representative of Guinea-Bissau to the United Nations, Samba Sane presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.
