SECRETARY-GENERAL'S VISIT TO SPAIN, 11-14 APRIL

The Secretary-General arrived in Madrid from Geneva in the morning of Sunday, 11 April. That afternoon, he visited the city of Toledo, accompanied by Inocencio Arias, Ambassador of Spain to the United Nations. While in Toledo, the Secretary-General visited the Catholic cathedral, the mosque -- Cristo de la Luz, the synagogue -- Del Transito, and the Sephardic Museum.

SECRETARY-GENERAL'S VISIT TO BELGIUM, 26-28 JANUARY

The Secretary-General travelled from Geneva to Brussels in the evening of Tuesday, 26 January. He was welcomed to Belgium by the Belgian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Erik Derycke.

At 9:30 a.m. on the following day, he met with the families of the Belgian peacekeepers killed in Rwanda in 1994. He then had an audience with King Albert II at the Palais Royal.
