On 10 September 2014, the Security Council’s 2140 Sanctions Committee met to discuss the interim report of the Panel of Experts on Yemen, presented by its Coordinator.

Proposing a package of measures to "fundamentally change the dynamics" in Gaza, the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process told the Security Council this morning that it was critical to act swiftly while a fragile ceasefire held.

As the Security Council took up the Secretary-General’s report on the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), speakers voiced an array of views on the proposed drawdown of that operation’s presence, particularly in light of the recent political impasse impeding legislative, national and local elections from being held by the mandated deadline.
