It is a great honour to be visiting Peru and to be awarded the “Orden del Sol del Peru”, your country’s highest civilian award.

Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in Guayaquil, the largest city and main port of Ecuador, in the early evening of 7 November on a special flight of the aircraft of the President of Chile.

HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS OFFICE CONTINUES SECURITY ASSESSMENTS IN LIBERIA

NEW YORK, 11 November (OCHA) -- Over the weekend, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Liberia fielded an inter-agency security and protection mission to assess the security situation in Gbarnga and Zorzor prior to United Nations and non-governmental organization intervention in the area.
