The Department of Public Information/Non-Governmental Organizations Committee associated 19 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI), including one organization which received probationary association. This brings to 1,439 the number of NGOs working with the Department in the area of communications and outreach.
The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations today adopted the report of its 2015 May-June session as orally revised, during which it recommended to the Economic and Social Council 160 organizations for consultative status and deferred 200 for further consideration at its regular session in 2016.
