SECURITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION 751 (1992)


CONCERNING SITUATION IN SOMALIA ADOPTS NEW CONSOLIDATED GUIDELINES


Following the adoption on 19 June 2001 of Security Council resolution

1356 (2001), the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution

751 (1992) concerning Somalia adopted on 20 July 2001 new consolidated guidelines for the conduct of its work.

The Council members heard the briefing by Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Kenzo Oshima, who introduced the report of the Secretary General on the humanitarian implications of the measures imposed by Security Council resolutions 1267 (1999) and 1333 (2000).
