The following Security Council press statement was issued today by Council President Kacou Houadja Léon Adom (Côte d’Ivoire):
On 4 December 2018, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1970 (2011) concerning Libya adopted an Implementation Assistance Notice entitled “Guidance to Member States on the correct application of the provisions of the resolutions regarding the payment of management fees on frozen assets.”
On 21 November 2018, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2374 (2017) concerning Mali, held informal consultations to hear statements by Mali and States of the region. The meeting was held in advance of the planned Committee Mission to Mali.
On 15 November 2018, members of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2206 (2015) concerning South Sudan were briefed by the Coordinator of the Panel of Experts on South Sudan in connection with the Panel’s interim report, which was submitted in pursuance of paragraph 19(e) of resolution 2428 (2018).

On 21 November 2018, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2206 (2015) concerning South Sudan enacted the amendments specified with underline and strikethrough in the entry below on its List of individuals subject to the travel ban and financial measures set out in paragraphs 9 and 12, respectively, of Security Council resolution 2206 (2015) adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

Following the adoption of resolution 2444 (2018) on 14 November 2018, by which the Security Council lifted the arms embargoes, travel bans, asset freezes and targeted sanctions imposed on Eritrea in resolutions 1907 (2009), 2023 (2011), 2060 (2012) and 2111 (2013), the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolution 751 (1992) concerning Somalia, formerly known as the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 751 (1992) and 1907 (2009) concerning Somalia and Eritrea, began its work under a modified mandate.
