Following is UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ message for World Tsunami Awareness Day: “Fighting Inequality for a Resilient Future”, observed 5 November:

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Felipe Paullier of Uruguay as the first Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs.

The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, arrived in Cairo from China early on Thursday morning, 19 October, as part of a humanitarian mission at a moment of profound crisis in the Middle East region.

On Tuesday, 17 October, at the invitation of the Chinese Government, the Secretary-General arrived in Beijing to take part in the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
