BRIGADIER GENERAL clive LILLEY APPOINTED CHIEF OF STAFF

OF UN TRUCE SUPERVISION ORGANIZATION (UNTSO)


Secretary-General Kofi Annan announced today the appointment of Brigadier General Clive Lilley of New Zealand as Chief of Staff of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO), to succeed Major General Carl Dodd, from Ireland, who relinquished his post on 30 September 2004.

The Secretary-General strongly condemns the bomb attack that was carried out today in the Pakistani city of Multan, in which reportedly dozens of people were killed and many more wounded.
