SECRETARY-GENERAL APPOINTS JEAN DUSSOURD DEPUTY SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE IN KOSOVO
The Secretary-General has appointed Jean Dussourd as his Deputy Special Representative in the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). Mr. Dussourd will head the Police and Justice component (Pillar I) in UNMIK.

Today we celebrate the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol.
The Secretary-General arrived in Munich from London on Friday evening, 11 February.
Secretary-General Kofi Annan, on arriving in London from New York on Wednesday, 9 February, held internal meetings, including with his Special Representative for Iraq, Ashraf Qazi, and his senior political advisor, Kieran Prendergast.
