SECRETARY-GENERAL APPOINTS PIERRE SCHORI AS NEW

 

SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR CÔTE D’IVOIRE

The Secretary-General has decided to appoint Pierre Schori of Sweden to succeed Albert Tévoédjrè as his Special Representative for Côte d’Ivoire, effective 1 April 2005.  Mr. Schori has been a Distinguished Visiting Professor at AdelphiUniversity in New York since 2004.

Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in London early in the morning of Tuesday, 1 March, where he addressed the London Conference in Support of the Palestinian Authority, convened by United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair.
