Following are UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ remarks to the Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) of the General Assembly on the proposed programme budget for 2025, in New York today:

The Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) elected Egriselda Aracely González López (El Salvador) Chair on 6 June.

The First Committee (Disarmament and International Security) elected Maritza Chan Valverde (Costa Rica) Chair on 6 June.

The Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) elected Zéphyrin Maniratanga (Burundi) as its Chair on 6 June.

The Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization) elected Sanita Pavļuta-Deslandes (Latvia) as Chair on 6 June.

The Second Committee (Economic and Financial) elected Muhammad Abdul Muhith (Bangladesh) Chair on 6 June.

The Sixth Committee (Legal) elected Rui Vinhas (Portugal) Chair on 6 June.
