The new Permanent Representative of Spain to the United Nations, Hector Gómez Hernández, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Sarhad Fatah of Iraq as Deputy Head of Mission for the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen. Mr. Fatah succeeds Muin Shreim of the United States, to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for his commitment and decades of dedicated service to the Organization.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Anita Kiki Gbeho of Ghana as his new Deputy Special Representative in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and Resident Coordinator in South Sudan.  Ms. Gbeho will also serve as the Humanitarian Coordinator.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Natalie Boucly of France as Deputy Commissioner-General (Programmes and Partnerships) of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). She will succeed Leni Stenseth of Norway to whom the Secretary-General expresses his appreciation for her service and commitment to the Organization.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Antonia Marie De Meo of the United States as Deputy Commissioner-General (Operational Support) of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Seraphine Wakana of Burundi as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sierra Leone, with the host Government’s approval. Ms. Wakana has more than 28 years of experience in coordination, political engagement, economics and development planning.

The new Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the United Nations, José Javier De la Gasca Lopez Domínguez, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Babatunde A. Ahonsi of Nigeria as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Türkiye, with the host Government’s approval.
