Economic and Social Council Management Segment Concludes Session, Discussing Reports of Five Regional Commissions, Taking Action on Two Drafts

The Economic and Social Council concluded its two-day management segment today, focusing on the work of the five UN regional economic commissions.
It also met to take action on a resolution entitled “Support to Non-Self-Governing Territories by the specialized agencies and international institutions associated with the United Nations” (document E/2024/L.24). Further, it discussed and considered a draft on the economic and social repercussions of the Israeli occupation on the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan.
In addition, the Council met to fill regular and outstanding vacancies in its subsidiary bodies.
