AS UN CONFERENCE CLOSES IN MERIDA


MERIDA (Mexico), 11 December -- Ninety-five countries attending the United Nations Convention Against Corruption here over the last three days have signed “a convention with teeth”, said Antonio Maria Costa, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, at a concluding press conference today.

GENEVA, 19 March (UN Information Service) -- The International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families will enter into force on 1 July 2003, following Guatemala's ratification of the treaty last Friday.
