The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is in West Java, Indonesia, following the earthquake that struck Monday, and has distributed 350 customized kits to women, adolescents and people living with HIV. Deployed midwives to West Java have also established a reproductive health centre, where three babies have been born so far.

Somalia
To enforce the arms embargo on Somalia, the Security Council decided today to reauthorize maritime interdiction of illicit weapons imports, charcoal exports, and improvised explosive device components, while also renewing the mandate of the Panel of Experts on Somalia.
The Security Council today decided to adopt resolution 2661 (2022), which extended resolution 2607 (2021) by two days, until 17 November 2022.
On 14 October, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolution 751 (1992) concerning Somalia held informal consultations to hear a briefing by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, following the submission of the report of the Emergency Relief Coordinator, pursuant to paragraph 43 of resolution 2607 (2021), on the delivery of humanitarian assistance in Somalia and on any impediments thereof.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) today released its Adaptation Gap Report, which finds that global efforts in adaptation planning, financing and implementation are not keeping pace with the growing risks.

In Tunisia, the third of nine commercial vessels from Ukraine arrived over the weekend, through the Black Sea Grain Initiative, bringing more than 78,000 tons of soft wheat to the country. A fourth vessel is scheduled to land today in Tunis, with 30,000 tons of corn.
