ADDIS ABABA, 13 August (ECA) -- United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) K.Y. Amoako will today discuss a new ECA initative, the African Development Forum (ADF), with President Thabo Mbeki and senior government officials during a two-day official visit to South Africa.

BANGKOK, 21 May (United Nations Information Service) --- An interregional workshop on the "Social Implications of the Financial Crisis" and an expert group meeting on the "Agenda for Action on Social Development in the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) region will be held from 25 to 27 May at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok.
