GENEVA, 17 July (UN Information Service) -- The Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories will carry out its annual field mission to Egypt, Jordan and Syria from 22 to 31 July.
This is indeed a historic moment.
The Economic and Social Council this afternoon adopted four resolutions and one decision, all without a vote, recommended by the five regional commissions, as it continued its review of the work of those bodies.
The Security Council this morning extended the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) for a period of two months until 21 September 1998, so that the Mission might proceed with its identification tasks, with the aim of completing the process.
