ROME, 3 June (FAO) -- The Kingdom of Jordan has been hit by the "worst drought in decades" affecting hundreds of thousands of people, according to a joint report by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the only United Nations human rights treaty-monitoring body concerned exclusively with women, will convene the second of its two annual sessions at Headquarters from 7 to 25 June.
