WORLD EDUCATION FORUM IN DAKAR, SENEGAL, 26-28 APRIL TO BOOST DRIVE FOR EDUCATION FOR ALL

PARIS, 11 April (UNESCO) -- Several countries have proved in the last 10 years that strong political will can make the dream of “Education for All” a reality. This message is key to the World Education Forum to be held in Dakar, Senegal, from 26 to 28 April, which will attract some 1,000 national educational leaders.

SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON CHARTER OPENS TWO-WEEK SESSION AT HEADQUARTERS

The Special Committee on the Charter of the United Nations and on Strengthening the Role of the Organization needed to examine the difficulties that had prevented it from making progress in recent years, its Chairman said this morning, as the Committee began its annual two-week session.

UNITED NATIONS WORLD YOUTH AWARDS GIVEN TO AFRICAN YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS

NEW YORK, 10 April (DESA) -- The Youth Unit of the Division for Social Policy and Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), presented the United Nations World Youth Awards to 14 African youth organizations today at the opening of the first session of the African Youth Forum at the United Nations Conference Centre in Addis-Ababa.
