On 2 October 2015, the United Nations-African Union Joint Task Force on Peace and Security held its eleventh consultative meeting at United Nations Headquarters in New York, on the margins of the seventieth session of the United Nations General Assembly. The United Nations Secretariat and African Union Commission were represented by senior officials from the two organizations.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Maman S. Sidikou of Niger as his Special Representative for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Head of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).
Mr. Sidikou succeeds Martin Kobler of Germany, to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for his important contribution and dedicated service for the past two years in supporting the implementation of the MONUSCO mandate.
