Palestinian Rights Committee Opens 2014 Session upon Launch of International Year of Solidarity, as Speakers Outline Steps to Redress ‘Historical Injustices’

During today’s official launch of the International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the President of the State of Palestine called on the international community to support the observance and expressed hope it would lead to the end of Israel’s 47-year occupation of Palestinian lands and to the creation of an independent Palestinian State with full United Nations membership.

Committee Will Hold Special Meeting, Other Events to Mark International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People, 25 November

NEW YORK, 22 November (Division for Palestinian Rights) — The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People will hold a special meeting in observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in the Economic and Social Council Chamber at 10 a.m. on Monday, 25 November, in accordance with General Assembly resolutions 32/40 B of 2 December 1977 and 67/21 of 30 November 2012.
