OBSERVANCE OF TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF FAMILY


TO BE LAUNCHED ON 4 DECEMBER


The tenth anniversary of the International Year of the Family will be launched on 4 December at United Nations Headquarters in New York, with activities including a high-level seminar on the family, sponsored by the Path to Peace Foundation and the World Family Policy Center, and taking place in Conference Room 1 at 3 p.m.

FINLAND, UN TO SIGN FORESTRY PACT ON 4 DECEMBER


On Thursday, 4 December, at 9:30 a.m., the Government of Finland will sign an agreement with the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF), Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) for a project in support of sustainable forest management.

NANE ANNAN TO OPEN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION ON HIV, AIDS–RELATED STIGMA


On 1 December, World AIDS Day, the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (EAA), in conjunction with UNAIDS will launch a poster exhibition, “Signs of Hope, Steps for Change”, featuring artwork created in over 23 countries addressing the stigma and discrimination suffered by those living with HIV and AIDS.
