The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations continued its resumed session today, recommending 32 groups for special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council and deferring action on 52 others.

Continuing its resumed session today, the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations recommended 27 organizations for special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council and deferred action on 61 applications, while also approving one request for status reclassification and postponing action on one other such request.

The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations continued its resumed session today, recommending 75 organizations for special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council and deferring action on 43 others.

Resuming its 2019 session today, the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations recommended 75 groups for special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, while deferring action on the status of 28 others.

The Civil Society Organizations Association Committee of the United Nations Department of Global Communications approved today the applications of 19 civil society organizations to be associated with the Department.  The Committee’s meeting also endorsed the disassociation of two non-governmental organizations (NGOs).  This brings the total number of civil society organizations associated with the Department to 1,519.

The United Nations Department of Global Communications today announced the selection of Maruxa Cardama, Secretary-General of the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport, as Chair of the sixty-eighth United Nations Civil Society Conference that will take place from 26 to 28 August in Salt Lake City, United States.

The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, concluding the first part of its 2019 session, today adopted a report that outlines the results of its substantive work over recent weeks, including its decision to recommend 236 groups for special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council.

The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations today concluded substantive work of its 2019 regular session with the presentation of the subsidiary body’s draft report, which will be finalized for adoption in February.

On the seventh day of its 2019 regular session, the Committee on Non‑Governmental Organizations today took note of 114 new and deferred quadrennial reports from various organizations, while postponing action on several others after delegates requested additional information from the respective applicants.
