SECRETARY-GENERAL DEPLORES ESCALATION OF HOSTILITIES IN LEBANON

19960411 The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for Secretary- General Boutros Boutros-Ghali:

The Secretary-General deplores the escalation in hostilities in Lebanon, in particular the retaliatory attack of the Israeli Defence Forces on Beirut. The Secretary-General deeply regrets all loss of civilian life.
