Concluding First Political Forum, Economic and Social Council Adopts Declaration Placing Sustainability at Core of Post-2015 Agenda

As the Economic and Social Council concluded its first high-level political forum, it adopted without a vote a shared ministerial declaration with the Council’s high-level segment that called for concerted efforts around the world to meet the Millennium Development Goals and to pave the way to a post-2015 development agenda that included sustainability and the eradication of poverty.

Palestinian Rights Committee, 10 Years after International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion, Urges Removal of Barrier Wall

A decade after the International Court of Justice deemed illegal the situation arising from Israel’s construction of the wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including in and around East Jerusalem, the Palestinian Rights Committee, in a special meeting, reaffirmed the Court’s findings and called on Israel to immediately dismantle its system of walls and fences and to compensate Palestinians that had sustained damages as a result.
