A United Nations report released today says more than 18,800 civilians have been killed in the ongoing Iraq conflict and another 36,000 wounded between 1 January 2014 and 31 October 2015.  Another 3.2 million people have been internally displaced since January 2014, including more than a million school-age children.

Secretary-General Appoints Sustainable Development Goals Advocates to Support Promotion of New Sustainable Development Goals

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of a group of eminent Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Advocates to help promote action to achieve the SDGs adopted by world leaders at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015.
