INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT NOW HAS TWO THIRDS OF NECESSARY


RATIFICATIONS, PREPARATORY COMMISSION TOLD


The United Kingdom and Liechtenstein have ratified the treaty establishing the International Criminal Court (ICC), bringing the total number of ratifications to the full two thirds of the 60 needed to bring the Court into being.

THE HAGUE, 1 June (ICJ) -- Today, Liechtenstein instituted proceedings against Germany concerning "decisions of Germany ... to treat certain property of Liechtenstein nationals as German assets ... seized for the purposes of reparation or restitution as a consequence of World War II ... without ensuring any compensation".
