The General Committee this morning recommended that the fifty-second session of the General Assembly adopt an agenda of 158 items, including their allocation among the six Main Committees.

Following is the text of the inaugural address given today by Hennadiy Udovenko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, as President of the fifty- second session of the General Assembly:

The fifty-second General Assembly could be "a watershed session" in which Member States would have the chance to revitalize the United Nations and enable it to address the mounting challenges it faced, its newly-elected President, Hennadiy Udovenko (Ukraine), said at the opening meeting this afternoon.
