We had a useful pair of private meetings this morning in the Security Council.  One on Sierra Leone, the other on the Central African Republic.

1267 COMMITTEE APPROVES DELETION OF INDIVIDUAL’S NAME FROM LIST

On 8 July 2002, the 1267 Committee approved the deletion of Liban Hussein (Canadian citizen) from its consolidated list (Al-Qaida section).  The Committee’s decision is based on information provided by a Member State.

SECURITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE CONCERNING LIBERIA REMOVES THREE INDIVIDUALS FROM

LIST OF PERSONS SUBJECT TO TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS, ISSUES REVISED LIST

On 9 July, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1343 (2001) concerning Liberia approved the removal of the following three individuals from the list of persons affected by the measures contained in paragraph 7 of the resolution:
