Following are UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ remarks to the Security Council high-level debate on United Nations Peacekeeping Operations:  The Key Role of Strategic Communications, in New York today:

On 13 May 2022, the Group of Experts on the Democratic Republic of the Congo briefed the members of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1533 (2004) in connection with the Group’s final report, which was submitted in pursuance of paragraph 6 of resolution 2582 (2021).

The following Security Council press statement was issued today by Council President Ronaldo Costa Filho (Brazil):

On 22 June 2022, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2206 (2015) concerning South Sudan held a briefing to Member States during which the Coordinator of the Panel of Experts briefed participants on the Panel’s final report dated 28 April 2022 (S/2022/359).

On 30 June 2022, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) enacted the amendments, specified with strikethrough and/or underline, in the entry below on its Sanctions List of individuals and entities.

The Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2206 (2015) concerning South Sudan has been made aware of a document purporting to be an addendum to the final report of the Panel of Experts on South Sudan, discussing recent violence in Maiwut and Leer (Unity State).

On 3 June 2022, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolution 751 (1992) concerning Somalia (“the Committee”) held informal consultations to hear a briefing by the Panel of Experts on Somalia on its comprehensive midterm update, covering the period from 16 December 2021 to 27 April 2022, and submitted pursuant to paragraph 41 of resolution 2607 (2021).
