From 4 to 10 May 2018, the Chair of the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 751 (1992) and 1907 (2009) concerning Somalia and Eritrea, His Excellency, Kairat Umarov, joined by the delegation comprising of Ethiopia, Khazakhstan, Kuwait, Netherlands, Sweden and members of the Secretariat, visited Djibouti, Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia.
On 13 June 2018, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1591 (2005) concerning the Sudan held informal consultations to consider the report of the Chair’s visit to Sudan, which took place from 13 to 20 April 2018.
On 18 June 2018, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida, and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities approved the addition of the entries specified below to its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2368 (2017), and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

On 8 June 2018, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2374 (2017) concerning Mali held informal consultations to hear a briefing by the Chair on his visit to Mali, from 26 to 27 March 2018.
On 25 May 2018, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2127 (2013) concerning the Central African Republic held informal consultations in connection with the progress update of the Panel of Experts, which was submitted in pursuance of paragraph 32 (d) of resolution 2399 (2018).
