Expressing strong support for the role played by the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) in the implementation of its mandate, the Security Council this morning decided to extend its mandate until 15 September 2001.

SECURITY COUNCIL EXTENDS WESTERN SAHARA MISSION UNTIL 30 APRIL,

UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTING RESOLUTION 1342 (2001)

The Security Council this morning unanimously decided to extend the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) until 30 April 2001, by adopting resolution 1342(2001).
